e-Waste
Electronic devices are a complex mixture of several hundred materials. A mobile phone, for example, contains 500 to 1,000 components. Many of these contain toxic heavy metals such as lead, mercury, cadmium, and beryllium. While these chemicals work wonders in our high-tech world they are extremely harmful to our environment.
We offer a range of services to assist in the secure recycling and disposal of electronics. Our consultants will pick up your e-waste during our visits.
Along with recycling services we also offer guaranteed data destruction services to ensure that your businesses data is completely removed from any device prior to it being recycled or disposed. Our data destruction service includes destruction methods for securely removing data from devices that can be repurposed and physical destruction methods for devices which are too damaged to securely wiped otherwise.
Washington State is a leader in e-waste legislation and has created a program to assist in the proper recycling and disposal of electronics containing hazardous materials. For more information visit http://www.ecy.wa.gov/programs/swfa/eproductrecycle/.
